The seat heating control module must be programmed with theproper calibration software. The module stores and utilizes thisinformation however if it is not properly configured with thecorrect calibration software, the seat heating control module willnot control all of the vehicle features properly.
Ensure that the following conditions exist in order toprepare for seat heating control module programming:
The battery is fully charged.The MDI data link connectors are secure.The scan tool is loaded with the most current softwareversion.All disconnected modules and devices are reconnectedsecurely.This entire procedure has been reviewed beforeproceeding.Do not reprogram the seat heating control module unlessdirected by a service procedure or a service bulletin.
Seat Heating Control Module ProgrammingTo program and setup an existing or new replacement seatheating control module, perform the following procedure:
Access the Service Programming System (SPS) and follow theon-screen instructions. Refer toService Programming System (SPS).On the SPS Supported Controllers screen, select HVSMF FrontSeat Heating Control Module - Programming and follow theon-screen instructions.If the HVSMF Front Seat Heating Control Module fails toaccept the program, verify all scan tool and seat heating controlmodule connections are secure.
Note:After programming is completed, perform the following toavoid future misdiagnosis:
Turn the ignition OFF for 10 seconds.Open and close the door.Connect the scan tool to the data link connector.Ignition ON, engine OFF.Clear all DTCs from all modules.Tire and Wheel Balancing (Road Force Variation (RFV)) Wheels
ALL wheel/tire assemblies must have a RFV within spec beforebeing mounted on vehicle.Important:If a wheel/tire assembly is not within the RFV specificationafter match mounting, the tire must be returned to the tiremanufacturer.
