Warning:In order to prevent SIR deployment, personal injury, orunnecessary SIR system repairs, do not strike the door or the doorpillar in the area of the side impact sensor (SIS). Turn OFF theignition and remove the key when performing service in the area ofthe SIS.

Warning:Refer toSIR Warning.

Warning:Refer toSIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Warning.

Preliminary ProceduresDisable the SIR system. Refer toSIR Disabling and Enabling.It is only necessary to lower the headliner. Only do those steps in headliner replacementthat will lower the headliner enough to gain access to the part. Refer toHeadlining Trim Panel Replacement.

Roof Side Rail Inflatable Restraint Module Fastener (Qty:-6)

Caution:Refer toFastener Caution.

Tighten

9-Y (80-lb-in)

Roof Side Rail Inflatable Restraint Module Assembly

ProcedureDisconnect the electrical connector.Remove the 3 push in retainers securing the roof side rail inflatable restraint moduleto the vehicle.Remove the roof side rail inflatable restraint module from the vehicle.Refer toPretensioner Handling and Scrapping.

Tip:The bolts and the push in fasteners are an integral part of the module and shouldremain with the module.
