Removal Procedure
Remove the rear seat. Refer toRear Seat Removal and Installation.Remove the fastener from the rear seat back latch and pullthe latch out from the seat back assembly.
Detach the latch cable from the latch.
If you are going to replace the cable, disconnect the latchcable at the seat recliner mechanism.
Open the J-strip at the bottom of the seat cover.
Attach a mechanics wire to the cable to guide it through theseat back.Pull the cable out from the seat back assembly.Installation Procedure
Attach a mechanics wire to the new cable to guide it throughthe seat back.If you are replacing the cable, route the cable through therear seat back.
Connect the latch cable to the recliner mechanism.
Connect the J-strip at the bottom of the seat cover.Connect the latch cable to the latch assembly.
Caution:Refer toFastener Caution.
Install the latch to the seat back with a fastener andtighten to2.5-Y(22-lb-in).Install the rear seat. Refer toRear Seat Removal and Installation.If the Vehicle Is Stuck
Slowly and cautiously spin the
wheels to free the vehicle when
stuck in sand, mud, ice, or snow.
If stuck too severely for the traction
system to free the vehicle, turn the
traction system off and use the
rocking method. See Traction
Control/Electronic Stability Control.
